What works

Dogs welcome
Listed as dog-friendly — bring the leash and waste bags anyway.
Restrooms on site
The difference between an hour here and a whole afternoon, especially with a group.
Free parking
A free lot — one less thing to pay for, though paid options sit alongside it.
Easy to pair with a second stop
19 other campgrounds sit in the same city, so a wash-out here need not waste the trip.
An official site to check first
Whoever runs this campground posts schedules, closures and events there.

Worth knowing first

Reviews are mixed
A 3.9 average over 179 reviews sits below what most places in this category manage. Read a few before committing to a long drive.
Closed Sunday
Check the hours panel before you set out — a single closed day is easy to miss.
A narrow window to fit it in
Open 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM and no longer — it has to land inside the working day.
Strongly seasonal
Plenty of sites close or cut services outside the main season, and winter camping here is a different proposition entirely.
